We built Monesize to take the stress out of managing your finances. And one of the biggest sources of stress for our users has always been the same thing: manually entering every single bank transaction into the app.
You make a transfer, you buy something on your card, you receive a payment from a customer, and then you have to remember to log all of it. Miss a few transactions and suddenly your books do not match your bank balance, and you are spending your Sunday night trying to figure out where things went wrong.
Bank Sync fixes that.
What Is Bank Sync?
Bank Sync is a new Monesize feature that connects directly to your Nigerian bank account and pulls your transactions into the app automatically.
Every time a transaction happens on your account, it shows up in Monesize as a pending entry. When you are ready, you open the app, review your transactions, categorise them, and move on. Your books stay accurate and up to date without the back-and-forth of manual entry.
Why We Built It This Way
When we were designing Bank Sync, the obvious move was to add automatic categorisation. The app reads your transaction description and assigns a category for you. Many international apps do this and it works reasonably well in markets where most transactions happen digitally with clear descriptions.
But Nigeria is different.
A typical Nigerian business owner or individual might withdraw N20,000 from a POS or ATM and then use that cash for five or ten completely different things. Transport, food, a supplier payment, airtime, rent contribution. The bank record shows one transaction: a card payment or cash withdrawal. There is no way for any app to know what that money was actually used for.
If we auto-categorised that withdrawal, we would categorise all of it as one thing and get it wrong almost every time. Your books would look neat but the data inside them would be inaccurate. And inaccurate data is worse than no data at all because it gives you false confidence.
So we made a different call. Bank Sync pulls your transactions in as pending entries and gives you the control to categorise them yourself. You know what that N20,000 withdrawal was for. We do not. So we give you a clean, fast way to tell us, and your books reflect exactly what happened.
This is not a limitation. It is a deliberate design decision built around how Nigerians actually use money.
How Bank Sync Works
Getting started is straightforward.
Once you connect your bank account, Monesize starts pulling in your transactions in real time. They appear in your app as pending entries, sitting in a queue and waiting for your review.
When you open the app, you go through your pending transactions one by one. For each one, you confirm what it was for and assign it to the right category. An expense, an income, a transfer. Done in seconds per transaction.
From that point, the transaction moves from pending into your actual books, fully categorised and accounted for. Your income tracker, expense tracker, and profit summary all update automatically.
No more guessing. No more missing entries. No more end-of-month panic trying to reconcile your records with your bank statement.

Who Is Bank Sync For?
Bank Sync is useful for anyone who moves money through a Nigerian bank account and wants their Monesize records to stay accurate without constant manual effort.
For business owners, it means your business transactions sync directly into your books. Every customer payment, every supplier transfer, every expense on your business account shows up and waits for you to categorise it properly.
For individuals, Bank Sync opens up a whole new way to use Monesize. You do not need to run a business to benefit from knowing where your money goes. The feature is designed to power a new Personal plan we are introducing specifically for individuals who want clean financial tracking without the business-specific features like inventory and sales management.
Get Early Access
Bank Sync is currently in its early access phase and we are inviting users to opt in before the full rollout.
Early access is available for just N1,000. That gets you in before everyone else, access to the feature as it develops, and the chance to directly shape how it works through your feedback. The users who join early will have the most influence over how Bank Sync evolves.
If you have been waiting for a reason to take your Monesize account to the next level, this is it.
What Comes Next
Bank Sync is the foundation for a bigger vision. Once your bank account connects to Monesize, the amount of financial clarity available to you increases significantly. You see your real spending patterns, your actual cash flow, and your true financial picture without having to build it manually.
We are actively working on expanding Bank Sync to cover more Nigerian banks, refining the categorisation experience to make it even faster, and building out the Personal plan that Bank Sync will power for individual users.
This is one of the most significant things we have shipped since launching Monesize and we are genuinely excited to see how it changes the way our users manage their finances.
A Note From the Team
We built Monesize because managing money in Nigeria should not require an accounting degree or an expensive accountant. Every feature we ship comes from a real problem our users face.
Bank Sync is no different. It comes from watching business owners and individuals struggle to keep their books accurate when their financial lives are split across bank transfers, cash, POS, and mobile money. We wanted to bridge that gap in a way that actually makes sense for Nigeria.
We hope it does exactly that for you.
